Sheri Blades

Sheri Blades is the Vice President of Program and Impact at Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE). She is passionate about building healthy, vibrant communities. Her strong leadership abilities and advocacy work have helped to elevate her local community. This was accomplished through innovative literacy initiatives, family engagement and community partnerships in Napa and Sonoma counties. 

Sheri brings sixteen years of experience in elementary classrooms. During her tenure, she served as a classroom educator, district leader, curriculum developer, professional development trainer, and teacher mentor. In addition, she has experience as a nonprofit leader and board member with service as President of Ohana Wa`a (Family Canoe in Hawaiian), an outrigger canoe organization based in Napa, California.  

 Sheri earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an emphasis on supporting multilingual learners from California State University, Sacramento. Her Master’s degree in Innovative Education, from Touro University, focused on embedding art and engineering into Language Arts curriculum to improve and inspire language development. 

 Her hobbies include outrigger canoeing, hiking, and cycling. She looks for opportunities to spread kindness through community service. She enjoys assisting her husband’s passion for maintaining and racing historic race cars.  

 She enjoys inspirational quotes and will look for and reflect on quotes when feeling the need for motivation.  Beginning and concluding her bio with two favorite quotes is an illustration of how she does this.
