Dual Enrollment Week of Action Starts April 13

Dual enrollment is a powerful way for students and their families to get an early, supportive introduction to college. It provides a structured “on-ramp” to higher education and builds on the momentum of guided pathways. Dual enrollment is when middle or high school students take college classes—often at a local community college—while still enrolled in school, allowing them to earn college credit early. You may also hear it referred to as concurrent enrollment or early college.

When done well, dual enrollment is more than just taking extra classes. High-quality programs are aligned with clear pathways that lead to meaningful certificates or degrees and include built-in student supports. These programs create spaces where students—especially those who may not have otherwise seen college as an option—can develop a strong sense of belonging and confidence in their ability to succeed.

As part of the Dual Enrollment Coalition of California, PIQE connected with two parents and their students to hear firsthand about their experiences. We’re proud to amplify their voices during this year’s Dual Enrollment Digital Week of Action (April 13–17), sharing perspectives from PIQE parent and student alumni.

Join us in uplifting these powerful stories. During Dual Enrollment Digital Week of Action (April 13–17), we invite you to download and share the videos on your social media to help spread awareness. Be sure to use the hashtags #dualenrollment #DECC #PIQE.
