Empowering Families at the Fresno Family Empowerment Roundtable

By Isaac Cox

On June 15th, 2024, PIQE hosted its inaugural Family Empowerment Roundtable at California State University, Fresno. Families from across the Central Valley joined us for a half-day of engagement and empowerment.

The event began with opening remarks from CSU Fresno President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval, followed by an address from our President and CEO, Gloria Corral, and a keynote speech by California Senator Anna Caballero.

The highlight of the event was a panel of parent leaders and ambassadors who shared their personal experiences, underscoring the importance of parental involvement and community support in education.

Breakout sessions covered a variety of topics, including navigating the education system, accessing community resources, and effective communication with schools. These sessions provided practical information and facilitated connections among families.

The success of the Family Empowerment Roundtable was a collaborative effort, made possible by the dedication of our partners, panelists, session leaders, and staff.

We invite you to watch the highlights from the event and see the impact of our family engagement efforts.
