We’re proud to share that PIQE was recently featured in a special news segment by Radio Bilingue, highlighting the impact of a sudden suspension of federal education funds under the Trump administration. The report focused on the ripple effects felt across California’s public schools, especially in rural communities, and how organizations mobilized to address the resulting uncertainty in school funding.
Our very own Parent Ambassador, Rosalba Ochoa, and Gabriela Rios, PIQE’s Executive Director for the Modesto and Fresno regions, were interviewed as part of this in-depth story. They shared insights into how this situation will impact not only Rosalba’s children’s education but also low-income communities like the ones we serve at PIQE.
As the report highlights, it remains unclear when the funds will actually reach California, a delay that could hinder the education of those who need support the most.
