National City, CA, April 22 2026 – The Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) is proud to announce a new three-year grant award from Ballmer Group, providing general operating support to strengthen PIQE’s family engagement work. This investment reflects the important role families play in student success and will help sustain and expand PIQE’s efforts across Los Angeles, where it works with schools and local partners to improve collaboration and support better learning environments for students.
Through this support, PIQE will continue empowering English Learner (EL) families with the knowledge, leadership skills, and tools to advocate for their children, while also strengthening educator capacity to build meaningful, culturally responsive partnerships with families. Together, this investment advances lasting change by strengthening the connection between families and schools to create more equitable outcomes for students.
“We are grateful to Ballmer Group for their investment in PIQE’s mission. This support allows us to deepen our work alongside families and educators to strengthen school-family partnerships and build more connected, effective learning environments for students across Los Angeles,” said Dr. Ryan E. Alcantara, Interim Chief Executive Officer and President of PIQE.
“PIQE’s work demonstrates the power of family engagement in driving student success,” said Gabriella Barbosa, Senior Portfolio Manager at Ballmer Group Los Angeles. We are proud to support their efforts to ensure more families have the tools and knowledge to advocate for their children’s education
