Social-Emotional Learning (K-12)
The Social Emotional Learning Program helps families understand and support their children’s social and emotional development from elementary through high school. SEL equips students with lifelong skills in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship building, and responsible decision-making. When families practice these skills at home, students are more resilient, confident, and prepared to succeed in school and beyond.
Why SEL Matters
Social and emotional learning is essential for academic and life success. Students with strong SEL skills are better at managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and making thoughtful choices. SEL leads to:
-
Improved focus and attention in class
-
Stronger peer and teacher relationships
-
Better problem-solving and conflict resolution
-
Increased motivation and confidence
-
Reduced stress, anxiety, and behavioral challenges
Available for Every Grade Level
-
Elementary School: Students learn to recognize, name, and manage basic emotions, build early empathy, and practice positive decision-making. Families are shown how to model healthy emotional expression and provide supportive environments.
-
Middle School: Lessons focus on managing intense emotions, strengthening self-identity, developing empathy, and building positive peer relationships. Families explore tools like the S.T.O.P. technique to help adolescents manage stress and stay engaged.
-
High School: Students practice advanced skills in self-regulation, goal-setting, stress management, and responsible decision-making. SEL prepares them for college, careers, and active participation in their communities.
