Our approach is grounded in proven frameworks and continually refined through what we learn from the families we serve, ensuring our programming remains both credible and effective.
At the core of our work is building the capacity of families, not simply increasing participation. PIQE’s curricula are designed to guide families through a process of empowerment centered on three key elements: engage, empower, and transform.
Engage
PIQE engages families by raising awareness of their children’s education, helping them understand how schools work, why their voice matters, and how they can take an active role in their child’s learning.
Empower
PIQE empowers families with relevant and up-to-date information, practical tools, and confidence to communicate with educators, navigate school systems, and support their children’s academic success.
Transform
PIQE moves families toward positive action by helping them apply what they learn, advocate for their children, and stay engaged as partners in their school communities.
PIQE also serves as a true implementation partner, supporting recruitment, outreach, workshop delivery, family materials from start to finish, and survey data. We provide trained facilitators, structured programming, and take-home resources, reducing the burden on school and district staff while ensuring consistency and quality.
Our programming is practical and interactive, focused on real-world application. Families engage through examples, practice conversations, and hands-on activities, leaving with clear next steps they can take immediately.
A Full-Service Model That Reduces the Burden on Schools
At PIQE we do not hand off materials and expect school staff to manage implementation on their own. Instead, we provide a full-service approach that handles the majority of the work required to run a successful program.
This includes recruiting families, developing and distributing marketing materials, delivering workshops through trained facilitators, and providing printed curriculum materials and take-home booklets for families. By managing program delivery from start to finish, PIQE ensures consistency, quality, and strong participation while allowing school and district staff to focus on their broader priorities.
We provide the foundational learning that helps families become more aware of available services, resources, and opportunities to better support their student. As families build knowledge and confidence, they are more prepared to engage with schools, access district-led programs, and take positive action to continue supporting their child’s learning. This makes district services more effective, more aligned, and more impactful across school sites.

Aligned With Existing Funding Streams
PIQE is also uniquely positioned to help schools and districts meet the Family and Community Engagement pillar of the Community Schools model by turning a required priority into a structured, high-impact system. PIQE delivers multilingual, research-informed programming that builds real family capacity.
Our work aligns with key funding streams, including Community Schools Initiative grants, Title I, Title III, and migrant education, allowing schools and districts to strengthen existing efforts without creating new infrastructure. Through structured workshops and culturally responsive family engagement strategies, PIQE helps parents gain the knowledge, confidence, and tools to support their children’s academic success while helping districts meet key family engagement and equity priorities.
Practical, Actionable Learning Families Can Use Immediately
PIQE workshops are intentionally designed to be hands-on, practical, and action-oriented, whether delivered virtually or in person. Families do not just receive information. They learn by doing, reflecting, discussing, and practicing with others.
Through guided activities, practice conversations, reflection questions, group exercises, and real-world examples, families build skills they can immediately apply. This includes calculating GPA, preparing for parent-teacher conferences, understanding A-G requirements, navigating IEPs and 504 plans, supporting English learners, and becoming more aware of school and district resources that can help their children succeed.
Families also bring valuable knowledge and lived experience to each session. PIQE creates space for meaningful discussion and collaboration, allowing families to learn from the facilitator and from one another by sharing ideas, asking questions, and reflecting on common experiences.
By the end of each session, families leave with clear actions they can take, resources they can continue to use at home, and greater confidence to take positive steps in support of their child’s learning.
